Homemade baby bedding saves a lot of budget. You can knit, crochet, sew, or quilt any items to make a bedding set for babies with coordinated yarns, colors and fabrics. However, for those with time-based constraints, below are few suggestions:
Blanket/comforter ideas
Crib Comforter
Fetch fleece yards from fabric store, cut to the desired dimensions and sew edges to prevent fraying or unraveling.
Now fetch a baby blanket and spice it up by including an attractive border. Or you can include a special touch by using a simple design or embroidering a baby's name.
Make a memorable quilt by utilizing some of the outgrown old clothes. Now cut squares of various sizes. Serge or sew the edges together, pressing them to arrange a flat layer with a thin backing and batting piece.
Ideas for Crib Sheets
Cut cottons or knits to the desired dimensions. Now serge edges to prevent fraying or unraveling. You can use this for top and fitted sheet. Now tuck under loose ends, fastening edges under mattress.
You can even use bed sheets. Serge edges after cutting to size. You may get several sheets of cribs at the cost of one.
Pillow ideas
You can stitch up a nice pillow with the help of old clothes. Cut a square size, serge the edges, press to flatten, pair with backing piece and again sew. Now, stuff with a pillow form, turn right side out and stitch the remaining edges of the side.
A bed sheet or towel makes for a simple project. Cut to size, just fold in half, and serge or sew edges with the rear sides out. Now, turn the other side out and slip stitch the remaining edge after stuffing with a pillow form.
